These Terms of Service are an agreement between you and 2817 Technology LLC, a Delaware limited liability company operating in North Carolina and the operator of Leaty. “Leaty,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to 2817 Technology LLC and the Leaty service.
1. Acceptance of these terms
By creating an account or using Leaty, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the website, mobile app, or related services.
2. What Leaty provides
Leaty provides academic planning and study tools that may help you organize courses, review syllabi and requirements, upload class materials, receive study suggestions and reminders, generate practice materials, and track progress.
3. Accounts
You may create an account using email and password or an available third-party sign-in provider. You are responsible for providing accurate information, protecting your credentials, and for activity through your account.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe an account violates these terms, creates a security risk, harms other users or the service, or is used unlawfully.
4. Your content
You retain ownership of course materials, audio, documents, images, and other content you upload. You give us permission to host, copy, process, and transform that content only as needed to operate and improve requested Leaty features such as extraction, summaries, transcripts, practice materials, recommendations, and AI study support.
You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to upload and use your materials. Do not upload confidential records about another person or content that you are not permitted to use.
5. Academic use and AI output
Leaty supports studying and organization. It is not a substitute for attending class, checking official course systems and materials, communicating with instructors, or following your school's academic-integrity policies.
AI-generated or extracted content may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. You are responsible for reviewing dates, grades, requirements, recommendations, and study materials against authoritative sources before relying on them.
6. Prohibited conduct
You agree not to:
- Upload illegal, harmful, infringing, deceptive, or unauthorized content.
- Use Leaty to violate academic-integrity rules or another person's rights.
- Access another person's account or data without permission.
- Probe, reverse engineer, disrupt, overload, or bypass security or access controls, except where applicable law expressly permits it.
- Use automated methods to abuse, scrape, or interfere with the service.
7. Availability and changes
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of Leaty as the service changes. We work to keep Leaty reliable but do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free availability. Features may differ by device, account, region, or release stage.
We may update these terms. If changes are material, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate. Continued use after updated terms become effective means you accept the revised terms.
8. Third-party services
Leaty relies on third-party services for functions such as authentication, hosting, storage, notifications, analytics, and AI processing. Your use of third-party sign-in or linked services may also be governed by those providers' terms and privacy policies.
9. Account deletion and termination
You may request account deletion through the Leaty app. We may also suspend or terminate an account as described in these terms. Provisions that by their nature should continue after termination—including ownership, disclaimers, limitations of liability, and governing law—will continue to apply.
10. Disclaimers
To the fullest extent allowed by law, Leaty is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent allowed by law, 2817 Technology LLC and its service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for academic, financial, reputational, or data losses arising from use of or inability to use Leaty. Applicable law may give you rights that cannot be limited by these terms.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
