Leaty is a product operated by 2817 Technology LLC, a Delaware limited liability company operating in North Carolina. In this policy, “Leaty,” “we,” “us,” and “our” refer to 2817 Technology LLC and the Leaty service.
1. Information we collect
We may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, username, optional profile information, school, department, academic level, courses, study goals, grades, tasks, quiz attempts, AI chat transcripts, support messages, and other information you choose to add to your account.
When you use Leaty's course and study features, we may process syllabi, documents, images, lecture audio, transcripts, and other class materials you choose to upload. We may also collect app usage information, device and app information, crash and performance data, notification tokens, and analytics events needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
If you choose Google Sign-In, Leaty receives basic account information needed to authenticate you, such as an account identifier, name, and email address made available by Google. Google Sign-In does not give Leaty access to your Gmail, Google Drive, Google Calendar, contacts, or other Google content. If you choose Sign in with Apple, Apple may provide an account identifier, name, and email address according to the choices you make with Apple.
2. How we use information
We use information to:
- Create, authenticate, secure, and manage your Leaty account.
- Organize courses, deadlines, requirements, tasks, and study progress.
- Generate course-aware recommendations, quizzes, study materials, transcripts, and AI assistance.
- Send reminders, notifications, support responses, and important account or service updates.
- Monitor performance, diagnose crashes, prevent abuse, and improve reliability.
- Comply with legal, security, and operational requirements.
3. Uploaded course materials
Leaty processes the materials you upload to provide requested features such as syllabus and task extraction, transcripts, PopCards, PopQuiz, recommendations, and AI study support. You should upload only materials that you have the right to use. Uploaded materials are not treated as confirmation that an academic requirement has been completed.
4. Service providers and data sharing
We use service providers to operate Leaty, including providers for authentication, cloud hosting, databases, file storage, analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, email delivery, and AI-powered features. Current providers include Firebase and other Google services, OpenAI, AWS S3, MongoDB, and Render. These providers process information for the purposes described in this policy and under their applicable agreements and safeguards.
We do not sell your personal information. We may disclose information when required by law, to protect the security and rights of Leaty or others, during a corporate transaction, or with your direction or consent. We require service providers that process user information for us to protect it consistently with their obligations and the services they provide.
5. How we protect information
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect information and limit access to authorized purposes. No online service can guarantee perfect security, so you should also protect your credentials and notify us if you believe your account has been compromised.
6. Retention and account deletion
You can request account deletion inside the Leaty app. When deletion completes, Leaty removes active account records associated with your profile and user-uploaded files, including courses, uploaded materials, quiz and study history, AI chat history, and app profile data, subject to limited information that must be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate operational needs.
Limited copies may remain temporarily in backups, restricted security logs, de-identified analytics, or systems operated by our service providers until they are deleted or expire under applicable retention schedules. We do not use retained backup or security information to continue providing a deleted account. Deleting your Leaty account does not automatically delete information held independently by Apple or Google; you can manage third-party sign-in permissions through those providers.
7. Your choices
You can manage notifications, microphone, camera, photo, and other device permissions through your device settings. You may also disconnect third-party sign-in access through your Apple or Google account settings.
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, export of, or deletion of personal information associated with your Leaty account. Some requests may require identity verification, and certain information may be retained where permitted or required by law.
8. Children
Leaty is intended for college and higher-education students. It is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy as Leaty changes. If we make material changes, we will update the date above and provide additional notice when appropriate.
